Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Medical Billing Specialist with 10+ years of expertise in end-to-end medical billing processes, specifically in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of U.S. insurance requirements, HIPAA compliance, and be proficient in billing, claims submission, payment posting, and rejection management. This is a remote position based in Vadodara, India, supporting a U.S.-based healthcare organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform accurate and timely submission of insurance claims (electronic and paper) for ABA therapy services.
• Handle insurance verifications, pre-authorizations, and eligibility checks as needed.
• Conduct thorough payment posting, follow-ups, and accounts receivable management.
• Analyze and resolve denied or rejected claims, taking corrective action with payers and resubmitting claims as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Stay updated with insurance payer policies, CPT codes, and billing guidelines, especially those relevant to ABA therapy.
• Work closely with therapists, clients, and payers to resolve billing discrepancies.
• Generate and review reports related to claim status, rejections, payments, and outstanding balances.
• Ensures proper billing and collection procedures in collaboration with management, clinic staff, and coding teams.
• Maintains confidentiality and ensures compliance with HIPAA regulations and company policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in U.S. medical billing, preferably with a focus on ABA therapy.
• In-depth knowledge of insurance company policies, EDI systems, CPT/ICD-10 coding, and billing software.
• Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and confidentiality protocols.
• Proficiency in using billing software (e.g., Kareo, Office Ally, Therabill, or similar).
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal) in English.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple accounts efficiently.
• Experience working with U.S.-based healthcare providers or billing companies is a must.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with ABA-specific billing nuances and state-specific requirements.
• Experience working in a remote setup and managing time zones effectively.
• Knowledge of Medicaid and commercial payer rules in multiple U.S. states.

• Flexible timing with availability for U.S. EST/PST communication hours as needed.
