Introduction

A position has become available for a Health and Safety Consultant to join our dynamic team.

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining  Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) Management
  • Drafting, amending, and implementing the clients' procedures and policies required for the SHE Management System
  • Ensuring that all policies, procedures, and records are documented and controlled as per the Control of Documents Procedure.
  • Identifying training needs of the client and coordinating training on Policies & Procedures
  • Reviewing SHE files and ensuring compliance for work taking place at client sites.
  • Preparing for and chairing all SHE-related meetings i.e., SHE Committee Meeting, Management Review Meeting
  • Performing routine internal audits and conducting inspections within the workplace.
  • Conduct inspections and risk assessments on contractors working on site.
  • Identifying and issuing non-conformances reports.
  • Ensuring that clients are updated with all new legislation / changes in legislation.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Skills & Qualifications Required:

  • National Diploma/Degree or Enrolled for equivalent.
  • Appropriate H&S Programmes; SAMTRAC or NEBOSCH IGC
  • Valid driver’s license and own vehicle is essential.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Health & Safety
  • Good knowledge of OHS Act, 85 of 1993
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills

 

Package & Remuneration

Salary – R30 – R35k per month CTC, commensurate with experience
